Workshop Topic: Pruning “Making the Cut” (In-person, short tour after for those interested)
Date: September 21, 2024
Description: Join Etobicoke Master Gardeners and the Humber Arboretum for a free workshop on Pruning. We will take a hands-on look at pruning fundamentals, learn about the importance of pruning, proper pruning techniques and some of the common tools and tool care. Specific examples of what plants to prune and when to prune them will be demonstrated. You are encouraged to bring in your favourite secateurs (pruner) , if you want to sharpen them and practice a cut or two!
Workshop Topic: Sustainable Gardening and Climate change Considerations (Virtual)
Date: October 26, 2024
Description: Join the Etobicoke Master Gardeners to learn how to have a successful and sustainable garden. Learn how to select plants with a focus on native plants, what plants need to thrive, how to prepare your soil, watering strategies, understand your climate, considerations of climate change, plant hardiness zones, and changes in the sun exposure in your garden with increased development.

Date: November 9, 2024
Description: Join Etobicoke Master Gardeners and the Humber Arboretum and get started with indoor plant gardening. Learn how to create your own indoor garden oasis by selecting indoor plants, learn about benefits of indoor plants, how to care and grow them successfully, some of the challenges of indoor gardening, pet friendly plants, and meet some of common and more unique and tropical indoor plants, and plants to decorate your home for the holidays.
